Here is the Smith Log home. The family lived here first, while Alvin was finishing the Frame Home. Unfortunately, circumstances required the Smith's to move back in here a couple of years later and leave their beautiful Frame Home.
This is the Frame Home. This might look familiar to any of you who have seen and Church History Videos lately. It has appeared in a number of them and it was really fun to actually be in the place I've seen so many times through the media. The inside is lovely. Alvin really went to a lot of trouble to make sure that his mother had all of the latest conveniences.
Here I am outside the front door. This door faces the farm and the Sacred Grove. The Grove isn't too distant from this door step.
I thought this view was lovely. It's the Palmyra Temple overlooking the Smith Farm. President Hinckley likes to keep the trees thinned in front of the Temple so that you can view the Sacred Grove from up there. You can also view the Temple from the Farm, so it's a nice feature. President Hinckley thinks of everything nice!
