Here is a shot of the Whitmer Cabin where the Church of Jesus Christ was officially organized on April 6, 1830. It's quite a contrast to see this little place in contrast with the temple you will see below. My how the church has grown, but since this is the Lord's work, no surprises there.
I was so happy to be able to attend a couple of sessions at this temple while I was here. It's a lovely place, especially the stained glass windows. Below are my favorite pictures. I especially like the night shot.
"A City set on a hill cannot be hid!" This is true of all of our temples, but it seems so appropriate for the one across from the Sacred Grove.
