Welcome to the charming Yorkshire Town of Haworth! This is one of my favorite places to visit and I've been here twice so far. As you will see, my pictures are mixed from both of my visits here. The first time I came was in September 2007 and I came again in March 2008. This first picture is taken from the bottom of the main street of Haworth. The street is VERY steep and is fully cobble stones. It's quite a hike to get up to the top.
Along the way up you pass charming houses like this one. This picture is a March 2008 shot and the weather was absolutely horrible and cold on the day we were there. But, it's still fun to come anyway.
This next picture is a view of the Church. Though this church is not the one that Patrick Bronte would have preached in, its on the same spot as the original one was on. Patrick Bronte is the father of Charlotte Bronte and her sisters. For those of you who aren't aware, Charlotte Bronte is the author of Jane Eyre.
Here we see the Moors in September when all of the Heather is in bloom. That's what give that purple tinge to the plants in the forefront. It's lovely here!
This is a shot of my friend Rachel Cousin. She is getting a glimpse of the Moors in a horrible March storm. The wind was atrocious and the water was visibly moving sideways through the air. She's all bundled up because we were freezing and were getting a bit wet. But, you can't come to Haworth without going out on those inspiring Moors!
Here is a picture of one of the valleys you come across while hiking out on the Moors. All of that brown stuff is Heather and since its March, its still brown and dead. Spring comes late out here. We got two inches of snow just a week from when this picture was taken.
